Appearance

Settings ​

API-dex ships two portals, and Settings is laid out differently in each:

  • Internal developer portal: opened from the gear icon. A Settings sidebar lists General, E-mail, Catalog, Support, Theming and Logos. Catalog uses APIs / MCPs tabs.
  • External developer portal: opened at the /settings address of the portal. The sections appear as tabs at the top of the Settings page. Catalog uses a Catalogues rail on the left with APIs and MCPs.

General ​

  • Language settings. A switch per language the portal can offer: English, German, Dutch, French, Spanish, Swedish and Arabic. Only the languages switched on appear in the top-bar language control.
  • Cache. Cache information and Flush cache. The portal is briefly slower while data reloads.

E-mail ​

Lists the notification email templates with their name, from address, from name and subject. Selecting one opens Template Details to edit the HTML body, preview and save. SMTP configuration is not part of this screen.

Catalog ​

Each catalog type, APIs and MCPs, has the same layout:

  1. Feature flag (MCPs only). Enables the MCP catalog. The other MCP settings stay disabled until it is on. The API catalog is always available.
  2. Access. Enable API Try It Out (or Enable MCP Try It Out) on one card. On the external portal, Enable public API catalogue and Enable public MCP catalogue open the catalog to visitors, and one Environment picker chooses whose products they see. The internal portal has no public catalog; everything is behind sign-in.
  3. Catalog card elements. Which fields appear on catalog cards, grouped by identity, limits, metadata and actions. A live sample card updates as you toggle fields. APIs and MCPs have separate maps.

The public MCP catalog is off by default on the external portal.

Support ​

Enable Support switches the module on. Public form protection holds Require CAPTCHA on registration request with a Cloudflare Turnstile site key (the secret key is set in the server environment variable SUPPORT_CAPTCHA_SECRET_KEY), Max submissions per IP and per email, and their rate-limit windows in seconds. Email routing lists the staff notification emails that receive support requests; empty means the environment's fallback address.

Theming ​

Colours for Light mode and Dark mode, Theme presets, card and accent colours, and the code Editor theme. Theming is an internal-portal setting.

Logos ​

The organisation icons used in the portal chrome. Logos is an internal-portal setting.
