Environments
An environment is a configured connection from the portal to an API platform in your organisation (for example a test gateway vs a production gateway). Each environment has a display name you recognise and runs on one of the supported platform types — see Supported platforms.
Administrators register environments under Admin → Environments. Ordinary users select which environment they are working in from the portal header.
Why environment scope matters
Catalog contents, applications, credentials, and analytics are scoped to the environment you have selected. If something "disappears," check that you are in the intended environment first — it's the most common reason a team member sees a different set of APIs or applications than you expect.
